Reimagined Airbus’s top-manager intranet into a modern, tablet-first experience over two years, shaping two platforms used across the group: CBA and FAST

PURPOSE
Create a modern, consistent, and engaging digital environment for Airbus top managers and internal HR operations. Support career development, communication, and operational workflows across thousands of employees.

From Metro-inspired UI kits to carbon-themed interfaces, this work became an internal design benchmark for enterprise knowledge sharing and HR workflows.
Between 2012 and 2014, I led the design of two strategic internal platforms for Airbus Group: the Corporate Business Academy (CBA) and FAST. The first focused on community engagement and knowledge sharing among top managers; the second served internal HR workflows and office manager collaboration.
From the start, we challenged what an intranet could feel like. Instead of static portals, we designed modular, interactive, and touch-optimized web applications, deeply influenced by the Windows Metro language. Everything was designed for fluid use on tablets and desktops.
CBA established a new foundation: motion guidelines, component libraries, and a modular layout system. It introduced onboarding content, editorial insights, event navigation, and team networking. As it evolved, we extended the design system to FAST, used for HR evaluation cycles and travel coordination.
Each platform came with a dedicated UI Kit, motion specs, component documentation, and brand theme variants—from light blue to a darker carbon-inspired visual system. We also designed internal newsletter templates to help HR and comms teams keep the momentum alive.

Each FAST module reused the CBA motion and layout system, while refining the UI for clarity and brevity. Forms were stripped to their essence, interactions optimized for speed.
